The Suzuki DF300AP is powered by a 6-cylinder, 4,028 cc DOHC engine with 300 HP and 4 valves per cylinder. It features a driveshaft offset from the crankshaft, allowing a first reduction between the crankshaft and the driveshaft and a second reduction between the driveshaft and the gearbox inside the lower unit. This mechanism enables the use of large-diameter propellers to fully exploit the engine’s propulsive efficiency. It also shifts the center of gravity forward, providing better balance, reduced vibration, and greater stability while underway.
