Suzuki Marine DF250AP

The Suzuki DF250AP is powered by a 6-cylinder, 4,028 cc DOHC engine with 4 valves per cylinder. It features a driveshaft offset from the crankshaft, allowing a first reduction between the crankshaft and the driveshaft and a second reduction between the driveshaft and the gearbox inside the lower unit. This mechanism enables the use of large-diameter propellers to fully exploit the engine’s propulsive efficiency. It also shifts the center of gravity forward, providing better balance, reduced vibration, and greater stability while underway.

Multiple engines require counter-rotating engines to cancel the torque effect caused by propeller rotation. The DF250AP features the Suzuki Selective Rotation system, which has a special “selective” lower unit capable of turning the propeller either left or right as needed without affecting efficiency. To achieve the counter-rotating version, simply replace a connector in the engine wiring and fit the appropriate propeller.

The advanced sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection system collects operational information from a series of sensors located at key points in the engine, processes it, and calculates the optimal air-fuel mixture required for startup.
